About Dr. David Spellberg
Dr David Spellberg graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois with the highest honors after which he attended Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He continued with his residency in Urology there at the prestigious Rush Presbyterian St Lukes Medical Center, becoming Chief resident in Urology and a faculty member of Rush Medical College. During that time, he presented and published numerous papers at both national and international Urological conferences. After moving with his family to Naples Florida and establishing his practice, he proceeded to become active with the Collier county Medical Society and the Florida Medical Association, becoming President of the Collier county medical society in 2002, and being a delegate to the FMA meetings for many years. He has received many awards and honors for his achievements in local health care and community service, most recently Physician of the year from the Florida Association of Physician Assistants.

Dr. David Spellberg's main interest has always been in minimally invasive techniques and treatments. This led him to become very active with the development of a prostate cancer treatment protocol using the cyberknife, cryosurgery of kidney tumors to prevent loss of kidney function, and most recently HIFU (high frequency ultrasound ) to treat prostate cancer.

Dr. Spellberg is currently recognized as a world expert and authority in the use of cyberknife radiosurgery for treatment of prostate cancer, having presented his data and techniques at multiple sites around the world. He has been a pioneer and innovator, helping to develop what is now referred to by physicians around the world as the "Naples Protocol".

Dr. David Spellberg has been named in the Castle Connolly's Best Doctors in America multiple times, and also awarded with being placed in the Consumers' Research Council of Americas Guide to Top Urologist's and Top Physician's for the last 5 years. He is a Board Certified Adult and Pediatric Urologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr Spellberg is an active staff member of Naples Healthcare system and Physician Regional Hospital-Pine Ridge campus.
