Arturo Balandra, M.D.

Dr. Balandra obtained his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University as a Chancellor Scholar with a merit-based full tuition scholarship. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a dual degree in Neuroscience and Economics, he went on to earn his M.D. degree as a Gamble Scholar at University of Pennsylvania Medical School, which consistently ranks as one of the top medical schools in the country. Dr. Balandra then completed his residency in Urology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the busiest and most comprehensive urology programs in the nation.

During his training, Dr. Balandra published articles in stone disease and urologic oncology.  He also developed a particular interest in both Male and Female Pelvic health and completed several specialized training programs in the matter.  Throughout his years of training, he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction, incontinence, and voiding dysfunction including penile implants, artificial urinary sphincters, male and female sling placements, sacral neurostimulation, and laser treatments for prostatic enlargement, among others.

Dr. Balandra’s outstanding training in the most cutting edge research and treatment techniques spanning across all aspects of Urologic disease allows him to understand that there are many options for the care of each individual patient.  His philosophy is to work together with patients, offering them a breadth of treatment options regarding their ailments and inviting them to take part in their own care through thoughtful and informed decision making.
