MonaLisa Touch Laser Therapy

MonaLisa Touch Laser Therapy

MonaLisa Touch™ a new innovative fractionated CO2 laser therapy for vaginal dryness.

MonaLisa Touch™ Therapy
MonaLisa Touch™ is a minimally invasive fractionated CO2 laser that stimulates the vaginal and vulvar tissues to produce collagen and thus promotes revitalization of the vagina and restores the vaginal tissue to a pre-menopausal state.

MonaLisa Touch™ laser treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that takes less than 5 minutes.

• Clinically proven to work
• Painless in-office procedure
• Immediate and long-lasting results
• Requires no anesthesia
• Minimal side effects
• No downtime*

MonaLisa Touch™ laser therapy is a minimally invasive treatment that may produce “life changing” results. The treatment course consists of 3 office visits that are 4-6 weeks apart, followed by annual visits thereafter. While some women can obtain symptom relief after just one treatment, most women perceive improvement in their symptoms after 2nd and 3rd treatment.

MonaLisa Touch™ causes the epithelium to become thicker, rich in glycogen and have larger cells, thus restoring the tissue back to a healthier pre-menopausal vaginal state.

 Vaginal and Vulvar Atrophy
Atrophy is a medical condition in which the skin of the vagina and vulvar region becomes thin due to the decrease in estrogen that occurs during the natural aging process. Vaginal and vulvar atrophy affects up to 50% of post-menopausal women and can cause vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, burning and urinary issues including: recurrent UTIs, frequency, urgency and incontinence.

Current Treatment Options
Until recently, treatment was limited to hormonal therapy such as estrogen, vaginal moisturizers and lubricants. Some women, including breast and ovarian cancer survivors, cannot use hormonal therapy. Fortunately, this new laser treatment can treat vaginal atrophy without using hormones. It can therefore increase quality of life in cancer survivors and patients that are unable to be treated with conventional methods.

Therapy Success
MonaLisa Touch™ was approved by the FDA in December 2014 and offers an innovative treatment that can significantly improve your life. Several studies from Europe documented significant improvement in vaginal and vulvar atrophy symptoms.

Side Effects/Complications
No immediate side effects or complications have been reported. The studies in both the United States and Europe found that patients had experienced no long-term side effects.

Procedure Cost
Since MonaLisa Touch™ is a relatively new treatment in the United States, it is not covered by insurance and is considered an out of pocket expense. Please call our office for details and cost of the treatment.
